Tommy Peoples is a master of Irish tradtional music. His unique approach to fiddling embraces both northern (Donegal) stylings and western (Clare) influences; but the combination is entirely his own. The Iron Man is among the finest of his recordings to date. Here, you can sample a number of different dance forms (the title track is a splendid example of the strathspey) as well as tunes associated with such past masters as fiddler Ed Reavy and accordionist Sonny Brogan. The playing is impeccable, as are the settings: this is the way Irish music ought to sound!
