The Rainey family were well known Galway musicians whose music was renowned throughout the country. The CD is a recording by Professor Tony Knowland of rare tracks performed by the Raineys in Freeneys Pub in Letterfrack Connemara in 1956. This collection is the only known recording of the Raineys and it is the first time their music has been recorded on a CD. A rare recording of Irish Traveller music.
