Another magnificent album from the great Ronnie Drew. On hearing this it's impossible not to draw the comparison with the American Recordings of Johnny Cash. Brimful of experience, compassion, humour, love of fellow man and the joyful, painful richness of life, I would describe it as a revelation but this would be untrue - we already have more than 40 years evidence of Ronnie Drew's exceptional talents and humanity. If anything though, the peaks get higher with the years.
