A great blend of spoken word introductions and stomping traditional tunes with Dublin as its theme. From the rolling rythm of "The Mero" which (fits as a theme tune for the album) to the fantastic rendition of "Waltzing Matilda" it tells stories of an old town and what it is becoming. There’s a blend of sentimental tunes, traditional and humour capped by the great voice of the ex Duliners singer.
This was Ronnie’s second solo album and was recorded in 1978. After this release he briefly returned to play with The Dubliners, before going on to make other solo albums. Highly recommended.
