Originally the frontman with the Sixties pop group Them, Van Morrison has become one of the most respected rock and blues performers of the last 40 years. Born in Belfast in 1945, Morrison played with various local bands before joining Them and securing international hits with Here Comes The Night and Baby please Don’t Go. Later, after going solo, he crossed the Atlantic where he teamed up with the producer and songwriter Bert Berns, and one of their first recording collaborations was Brown Eyed Girl. A somewhat reluctant rock star, Van Morrison has nevertheless become one of the most enduring names of the international pop music scene.
