Patrick Kelleher won hearts and minds last year with the release of his debut album. Richie Egan of Jape and The Redneck Manifesto went as far to choose it as his album of the year.
Here, Dublin's finest motley crew of musicians, DJs and songwriters get their teeth stuck into Kelleher's oeuvre and the results are surprisingly good. This forms a fine companion piece to the original and a singular work in its own right.
David Kitt and Jape are the most familiar names involved, but particularly pleasing are the contributions from lesser-known lights such as Thread Pulls, Hunter-Gatherer, Legion of Two and Katie Kim. The opening salvo from DJs and promoters Skinny Wolves is a joy. A bewildering, baffling yet highly successful project.
