Cathy Maguire an accomplished singer and songwriter who was born in Dundalk, County Louth. At a very young age she became known locally as a child star. She recorded her first album at the age of twelve and after several listeners' requests, she was invited by Gerry Ryan to perform a live set on his radio program. This sparked off a career that spanned numerous TV appearances and 3 albums by the time she was 17.
Portrait is the debut album from Cathy Maguire and according to Hot Press it ‘immediately announces that Maguire is arriving fully-formed on the songwriting and recording circuit’. Its been quite a road already for the young singer/songwriting but one gets the sense that this is the first installment on what is be a long and accomplished career.
