Ceol is an innovative & imaginative approach to promote our native language through music. Not content with storming up the charts with their hits sung in English, Irish musicians have taken up the invitation in their droves from Seachtain na Gaeilge to chime out their tunes ‘as Gaeilge’.
Speaking about recording their Oscar winning track in Irish for the CEOL album Glen Hansard said, “Falling Slowly has done a lot for us. Made us proud parents and taken us to the world. So it makes total sense to sing it in our native tongue. I’m thrilled we got the opportunity and that we were given the challenge!”
